Match Day 9: Malicki Sanchez Law 0, QPR 1

QPR turned on the jets in a hot and sticky Sunday afternoon defeating league newcomers Malicki Sanchez Law by a minimum margin.

In truth, the chances came often with a QPR side that got their creative juices flowing despite a well-organized Malicki defense which held its line high, catching QPR forwards in offside quite often.

With one minute from halftime QPR midfield tough guy Fred "Le Tareau" Kodjayan broke the ice with a diagonal shot from inside the big box. 1-0 QPR.

In the second half, QPR poured it on despite playing with just one substitute for most of the game, in 30 C humid weather. Sergio "El Matador de Sangre Fria" Guillermo hit a crossbar and saw a well-taken penalty saved by a Malicki goalkeeper who stood on his head the entire game, denying Soben "The Beast" Thambidurai a goal in 3 occasions.

"We were the better team out there and it showed. It was important to score a goal right before halftime in order to set the tone and break their spirit. In the second half we stayed cool, calm and collected throughout taking three important points home. We'll rest up next week, and then look to win our first back-to-back games when we get back from the long weekend", team captain Fasano said at game end.

Match Day 8: CPU FC 2, QPR 1

A two-game winning streak eludes QPR once again.

Despite QPR's superior game play, CPU FC was clinical in taking advantage of two lucky bounces that gifted them an unlikely victory.

Captain Rocco Fasano's 30-yard strike from on direct free kick, temporarily equalized the score to no avail.

"We know that we're better than this. Despite CPU's better ranking, we showed that we were the better organized team out there. We need to create more chances to score and needed to test their goalkeeper more", team captain Fasano stated at full time.

Match Day 7: Knights of Cydonia 1, QPR 3

Queen's Park Rangers ended their three-game slide on Sunday July 12, winning convincingly and with confidence 5th-placed Knights of Cydonia.

Summer vacations wore the Rangers bench a little thin, meaning that the OPS team could not rely on the usual army of substitutes. Despite this, QPR took the field with determination and tactical discipline.

At the 10th minute mark, Konrad Stypka offered up a great ball for Sergio "El matador de sangre fria" Guillermo who slotted a curling shot passed the opposing goalkeeper who was screened by his own defenders, and could not see it until it was too late.

A few minutes later, QPR doubled their lead with Hadi "Schillaci" Fazli who beat the opposing goalkeeper with an opportunistic diagonal strike.

QPR were determined to return to the W column and scored a marvelous third goal with Soben "Thunder" Thambidurai who saw his hard work in the box pay off scoring his 4th goal of the season.

Truthfully, QPR's goal total would have been higher had the opposing goalkeeper not made a few great saves, the most memorable of which was on Michael "The Stallion" Allison.

In the second half, Knights of Cydonia came out determined to eliminate the deficit, but QPR's defence and Kevin Gocool's goalkeeping was too much on the day.

"Another great performance despite the hot and humid day and the shortened bench. Knights of Cydonia had only lost one game until today: this performance shows what we're capable of, despite the opponent's season record", team captain Rocco Fasano remarked at game's end.

Match Day 6: QPR 0, Chupacabras 4

In the late Sunday night match, QPR put on a good effort against a perfect Chupacabras side.

The game was quite balanced in the first half which saw the away side take a 1-0 lead.

The league leaders consolidated their lead in the second half with three more goals.

"The result is false. QPR played well, were tactically disciplined and played with high intensity despite the discouraging scoreline".
