Match Day 5 Report: QPR 0, Tiger FC 2

Under Friday night lights, QPR played to their third loss of the season, their second in a row.

The match was conditioned by an early ejection of their captain Rocco Fasano. The incident was uncharacteristic of the player, but fair as Fasano slid in late on an adversary, making contact with the player's ankle.

About 10 minutes after that incident, Tiger FC scored to take advantage of their numerical superiority.

Things went bad to worse as Cam Power was forced off due to injury shorty after that, after blocking a shot that would have turned into a certain goal.

In the second half, Tiger FC doubled their lead to secure the result.

"Defections before and during the game hurt us really bad. We will play the league leaders next, which will be the ultimate test for this group. I'm expecting everyone to be at the top of their game next Sunday", said captain Fasano.

Match Day 4 Report: QPR 0, JFT Z 3

Queen's Park Rangers played the late "Father's Day Special" against a perfect JFT Z team.

Despite dominating play in the first half with several shots on goal, QPR went down late in the first half to a direct free kick that was hit perfectly. 1-0 JFT Z.

The halftime result was not reflective of game play and QPR showed that they deserved more on occasion of constant pressure on their adversaries.

Shots by Manore, Fazli, and Thambidurai were all met by the opposing goalkeeper who was the most valuable player in the first half.

In the second half, QPR picked up play where they left off, but were frustrated by a JFT Z team which was clearly experienced in off the ball antics, time wasting and committing fouls within the limit of the rules, and getting away with it.

At the 10 minute mark of the second half, QPR conceided their second goal on a counterattack, by overexposing themselves in an attempt to score an equalizer that wasn't to be. 2-0 JFT Z.

Frustration mounted when QPR conceded a third off of a JFT Z corner kick. 3-0 JFT Z was the final score.

"We're suffering the leap into the upper tier. Teams are not that much more skilled than us with respect to skill, but they're beating us psychologically. That said, we've played the better teams in the league thus far and I'm not sweating the tumultuous path in the early going. Struggle is in QPR's DNA. It's part of our history. We will prevail, we will mount a comeback in results and in the standings", team captain Fasano remarked at game's end.

Match Day 4 Preview: QPR vs. JFT Z

Father's Day is a special day for our QPR team where the boys go ALL OUT to win one for the papis in our roster.

This Sunday's game will be extra hard as QPR faces a JFT Z team that has won all four of its outings this year.

"I need my men and particularly the fathers in our roster to be pumped and wreck JFT Z's unblemished 'losses' column", captain Fasano said ahead of Sunday's match.

Match Day 3 Report: QPR 3, Etobicoke FC 3

Queen's Park Rangers resumed league play on Sunday evening with a strong showing against Etobicoke FC.

QPR had a thundering start by blasting two goals passed Etobicoke FC's goalkeeper in the first five minutes of play.

First, it was QPR's new addition Alex "Number 4" Manore who won a ball in front of Etobicoke's defence and shot it passed the opposition's faultless goalie. Then it was Dan "Kwadwo" Yanful who met a low cross by Paul Bovdis and blasted it in, diagonally. 2-0 QPR.

Etobicoke FC showed that they were no pushovers and climbed back to score two goals, assisted by luck, which saw the first half come to a close with the score tied at two goals each.

In the second half QPR took measures to adjust to a midfield battle that they lost in the first half, switching to a canonical 4-4-2 formation.

About 10 minutes into the first half, a free kick by Rocco Fasano was met by Cam "Powerhouse" Power who slammed a goal in from close range after some chaos in Etobicoke's small box. 3-2 QPR.

But it wasn't to be. QPR's credit with Lady Luck increased when an unfortunate ricochet saw an attempted clearance hit off of an Etobicoke forward for a goal for a 3-3 final score.

"I am happy with our effort out today, but we must make our chances count. We were very unlucky and deserved to win. We'll face one of our division's perfect teams next week and we will seek to use the lessons we learned today to produce a win next week. We're still forming, showed character even in tough situations", team captain Fasano remarked at game's end.

March Day 2 Report: QPR 3, Unathletic Tugas 5

Last year's promotion to Division three's upper tier meant tougher competition for QPR.

This was confirmed in Sunday's match versus league leaders Unathletic Tugas, who had a perfect 2-0 record ahead of the match against the OPS soccer team, without conceding a goal.

QPR did something about that statistic right away. After an opening 15 minutes with a few chances on either side, QPR opened the scoring with Sergio Guillermo who punched the ball into the net after a few goal line clearences. 1-0 for QPR.

One minute later a shot from Tugas ricochet from QPR one player to another and the official assigned a penalty that none of the QPR players could explain. 1-1.

Ten minutes on and Tugas come back to take the lead. 2-1 Tugas at the half.
During the break Fasano re-styled the line up, looking to impose QPR's play and to exploit Tugas' weaknesses. The strategy worked: just 5 minutes in, Fred Kodjayan floated a cross into the box that met Sergio Guillermo's header for the tying goal and a brace for the MCSCS man. 2-2.
Ten minutes on, it was Soben Thambidurai who took advantage of Tugas' high-sitting defence, beating them in a race and slotting the ball passed their goalkeeper. 3-2 QPR. Second goal of the season for Soben, who has confirmed his goalscoring pedigree so far.
Alas, Fasano's plan came undone with 15 minutes left: three consecutive goals by Tugas undid QPR's come back. Final score: QPR 3, Tugas 5.
"I'm proud of the effort out there. We showed that we were no pushovers and have the quality necessary to excel in this division. Today we played one of the top teams and could have won the match. I take responsibility with a few too many experiments out there, which I believe gave me a definite idea with respect to players' versatility in terms of roles. We're still forming, showed character even in tough situations", team captain Fasano remarked at game's end.

Match Day 2 Preview: QPR vs. Unathletic Tugas

After opening their season with a win (their first ever win in a season opener) the Queen's Park Rangers will take on Unathletic Tugas on Sunday June 7 at 7PM (Field 1).

The Rangers have been promoted to Division Three's upper tier, which means that the Division 3 West Champs will face tougher competition in 2015.

"We look forward to the challenge. We play a much tougher opponents than last year, which means that we will need to fire on all cylinders every week", says QPR captain Rocco Fasano.

"We're still trying to achieve an optimum level of physical fitness, but we're lucky to rely on a solid foundation of players who have been joined by some very good additions".

"We meet Unathletic Tugas who are in fine form, going in with a perfect 2-0 record and haven't conceded a goal yet. We will work to do something about that on Sunday", concluded Fasano
